The main Customers are the DIY chains and leading supermarkets I joined Westland Horticulture as a temporary employee after redundancy and applied for the Quality Systems Supervisor job when it became available.; My role at Westland Horticulture was to support and deputise for the group Quality Services Manager on site as he was located in Ireland. I lead Customer audits on behalf of the Company I prepared the site for accreditation audits ISO 9001,14001 and Customer Audits Reporting to the senior management on KPI s I was a part of the HACCP team As part of our aim to achieve ISO18001 I successfully completed a Level 4 Health and Safety course I had responsibility for six Quality Assistants including two Laboratory Assistants who analysed the chemicals through the manufacturing process. I conducted internal audits and guided QA in conducting audits. I also set the audit schedule on site. I performed external Supplier audits. I conducted internal investigations arising from Customer Complaints and was responsible for the reduction of complaints on site. This included Customer visits. I had responsibility for Risk Assessment including COSHH assessments. I was responsible for writing Work Instructions and ensuring, through an audit process, that these were compliant to external standards and Customer requirements.

-Hilton Meats pack and process beef and lamb mainly for Tesco and some other UK retailers.; I began with HMR as a QA. In this role I was part of a team responsible for the safety, legality and quality of the product. Various testing methods were employed to achieve this including auditing, hygiene performance testing, metal detection verification and machinery calibration verification. I was promoted to Technical Assistant were I was responsible for setting up and maintaining records. I carried out internal audits, issued non conformance reports and was responsible for the completion of corrective actions. I was an active member of the HACCP team for the Company. I trained as a Lead Auditor and was promoted to the post of Internal Auditor. This role carried the site responsibility for the audit schedule and its completion. Also included in this role was preparation for customer audits and accreditation audits. As a result of the Company restructuring the role of Internal Auditor was made redundant. I remained with HMR serving as a Supervisor in the Purchasing Department before becoming the manager of the "Dry Goods" department, which provided all the packaging and ancillary goods to the three factory units. Previous employment was within the Catering Industry working as a Chef (1985-2003). Prior to that I served in the Royal Ulster Constabulary
