Southern Dingo Services was a business that my Husband and I began and operated. We worked in the civil construction industry undertaking excavation work. We had a Dingo Mini Digger, Excavator and tip truck, and our main work came from limited space excavations, as the Dingo was able to get into places larger machine could not. We undertook under house excavations, backyard excavations, and also did work for organisations, such as the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hobart and Professional Plumbing in Hobart. My husband conducted the manual work and I was in charge of the Office. My main duties included : • Arranging dial before you dig information to assist in locating infrastructure when digging • Organising invoices and receipts for clients after the work had been completed • Recording of all accounting details onto E-Record • Completing our quarterly BAS statements and other taxation documentation. In 2008 we had to close our business due to a medical issue where my husband was no longer able to operate the machinery. Achievement: My husband and I were able to successfully open and operate a business which was showing positive growth and we would have continued to operate the business if my husband was able to continue operating the machinery.
