  As a Ministerial Adviser, I conducted efficient legislative research and legwork to prepare draft legislation in the Attorney-General’s office alongside other officers and research assistants. I attended regular meetings with the Ombudsman, Public Advocate, Public Trustee, Chief Magistrate, and the Director of Public Prosecutions. I also forged outstanding working relationships with advisors across all Ministerial offices to facilitate inter-office discussions and transactions whilst managing collaborative relationships with other stakeholders to share policy advice and inputs. I prepared Joint Party papers and bill folders and briefing documents for the Attorney-General and the Treasurer ahead of each parliamentary week. I was responsible for attending the Legal Affairs Committee meetings with the Attorney-General to provide comprehensive support on the details and the minutiae of the pending bills. Moreover, I identified potential areas of risks and developed risk mitigation strategies in consultation with the principals. In this role, I was able to efficiently and effectively carry government bills through parliament. I maintained active involvement in Space Law, working closely with academics from the University of Adelaide. I also attended meetings at the South Australian Law Reform institute on their references and ideas for future reform in South Australia. Lastly, I received fortnightly briefings from the Crown Solicitors Office on various matters relating to the Attorney’s portfolio.

  As Associate, I was responsible for engaging with stakeholders and demonstrating strong management and administrative skills in overseeing a client portfolio on a day-to-day basis. I attended to diverse concerns for clients over various sectors, including defence, environment, education, and health. I was tasked to provide clients with high level government relations and strategic communications advice. I also conducted liaisons with organisations, groups, and individuals in the public and private sectors on behalf of clients. Under this role, I built strong and collaborative working relationships with Ministers and staffers at a state and federal level. Moreover, I maintained active involvement in tenders, grant applications and drafting proposals for government. Associates were also expected to work across the firms three entities: Pyne and Partners, GC Advisory and the AUSUSE Business Council. I managed all state, territory, and federal Lobbyists registers for both Pyne and Partners and GC Advisory. I scheduled and attended meetings with clients in person, via Zoom and MS Teams. I consolidated a portfolio of personal clients and improved engagement with key stakeholders both within government and the private sector. Lastly, I developed and maintained a strong understanding of how to navigate the complexities of politics and policy in a rapidly evolving and unpredictable work environment.
