The Elizabeth Fry Society of Vancouver (EFry) aims to provide services to marginalized women, children and girls that have been affected by the Criminal Justice System. The charitable organization targets the vulnerable populations of Vancouver by providing support and services to victims that are battling homelessness, addiction, mental illnesses and crime. The EFry society also aims at finding alternatives to incarceration by trying to break the cycle of poverty. Duties:- Assist clients from the holding cell to the courtroom - Note taking during court proceedings- Providing directions to clients through the court processes- Assist in administrative tasks for legal counsel and court judges and justices- Working hand in hand with the sheriffs and other court staff members- Provide services to women at the Maida Duncan Centre in New Westminster including laundry, stocking up on products and necessities, providing meals as well as giving 1:1 attention to women that need it- Helping vulnerable women, children and men with avoiding incarceration
