      This project designed and trial a range of recycled rubber sub-grade mixes, with assessment and reporting of the pavement performance, including strength, deflection, compaction and durability. The trial site is Downer Street, Kilkenny, between David Terrace and Copley Street (352 m). The site investigation was implemented by PAS Company. It was required as the first step to evaluate the existing environmental, pavement and geotechnical conditions at the site, which will form the baseline for future monitoring of the site. The faculty of Civil and Mining engineering of the University of Adelaide play an important role in this investigation. Due to the recent examination results of this faculty around the characteristic improvement of Rubber-Reinforced Expansive Soil, University of Adelaide try to collaborate with the council in this project to establish an appropriate connection between the academic research and the Industry. To achieve this goal, soil laboratory of the University try to find the best mix-design for the crumbed rubber and subgrade soils in the target stabilization zone. Show less
