Working as an analytical scientist in R&D New Product Development (NPD), I have gained invaluable experience on a variety of projects, such as toothpaste, mouthwash, emulsion cream and whitening gel. My role as a lead analyst consisted of working within set time frames on projects, as well as the following: •Supporting and working closely with formulators and the sensory group •Identifying / developing analytical work / methods •Working to GLP standards (working with QA and regulatory compliance) • Validating methods according to markets (working with regulatory affairs) • Issuing protocols and reports • Supporting stability work • Identifying and organising training / including training other team members • Transferring methods over to manufacture (working with GMS and external laboratories) • Reporting to the project leader and other team members

My duties as an analyst in the UKAS accredited laboratory was to analyse day to day water samples for different tests like, PH, EC, turbidity, colour in using the Anachem, the Na/K on the flame photometer. My mains duties included the development and the validation of a new method for the bromate on the Dionex (ionic chromatography). I also worked on the metals analyses using the ICP-MS, which allows me to work on a very low level. I analysed different metals such as (Fe, Al, Cu, Zn, Pb, Mn),alkaline metals (Ca, Mg, Boron), toxics (Ba, Cd, Ni, Cr, Ag), and various others like Arsenic, Tin, Cobalt, Mercury and Antimony. As expected in any UKAS accredited laboratories, I had to maintain a good laboratory practice and record the AQC data and input the daily results using LIMS software.

I worked as an analyst in the environmental science department. My duties involved analysing soil samples for contaminants such as (hydrocarbons, phenols, available and total metals, boron, cyanides, elemental sulphur and sulphates) and also for nutrients such as (Ca /Mg, kjeldahl nitrogen, organic matter, moisture and loss on ignition, phosphorus, PH, EC).When running methods I mainly worked on UKAS and British Standards methods.
