I was brought in as a turn around specialist to revamp the company’s sales, and market position. Asters being a iconic bookshop since late 90’s has found it difficult to position itself as a premier retailer of electronics into which the company had diversified since mid 2000’s. Today the Asters is widely accepted as the go-to shop in town for apple products. Asters today is well known for it’s successful social media marketing campaigns. The company has successfully positioned itself as cutting edge and “hip” among general consumers. The company has tripled its retail sales since April with double revenue from credit sales. My biggest achievement at Asters is the revamped company image created through successful marketing within a budget less than MRF 100,000 per month. The Asters social media marketing is unmatched in the Maldives and we are further pushing the boundaries to harness the power word of mouth. Show less

Hired as a policy professional I was tasked with the formulation of the regulations for broadcasting and re broadcasting in the Maldives. Since the commission was newly formed and the previous regulations were of a autocratic nature a lot of research was done to come up with regulations and code of conduct that were deemed appropriate for a liberal democracy. Was the lead negotiator between the commission and the stakeholders for finalizing the regulations and ensuing frequency bidding. Setting up and operation of a one of it’s kind IT training institute in Sri Lanka, with a focus on employability training. The center was opened in December 2008 in with an Indian franchise, licensed to teach courses both professional courses in IT (eg. MCSE, CCNA, Comptia A+) and basic courses which enhances one’s skills in computer operations and skills required for the modern work environment (eg, Analytical Skills, English, Presentation Skills). The main motivation behind Senok Information Technology Academy is to bridge the knowledge and practical training gap existing within the school system. The main obstacle for the poor mass to attain a better life is employability in middle class jobs which requires certain levels of skills. The Academy is aimed to be a non profit self sustaining academy with provisions to provide scholarship to student of need. In addition the financial plan is executed in a manner that reduces the course fee of any student to less than 80 USD per month. Without such provisions it would not be possible for our target, the rural students to attend classes. Show less
