Alicia is a very talented attorney. She was engaged to provide guidance on collection of debts as well as efforts to pursue those owing obligations, where applicable. I found her advice to be very sound and practical. For those debts that we pursued, the outcomes were more positive than originally expected. I would highly recommend Alicia for legal services.

Gina Massetti,

Alicia is extremely bright, tenacious, and works very hard to consistently produce a stellar product. She is excellent with issue spotting and theme development, both attributes strongly needed in the practice of law. She takes direction well, while also demonstrating strength as a leader. I highly recommend her.

My litigation practice includes commercial disputes, business torts, restrictive covenants and trade secrets, contracts, creditor’s rights matters, debtor issues, and disputes relating to real property. I will also prosecute and defend appeals in federal and state court. I continue to represent a broad range of clients including everyday individuals, employees, independent contractors, individual business owners, as well as small to medium sized companies. Representative Cases Include:Surterra Staffing, LLC v. Meaghan Kelly, Case Number 21-CA-006786 (represented former employee in restrictive covenant case).Judith Miller v. CCRC OPCO-Freedom Square, LLC, Case Number 21-002479-CL (represent elderly woman whose life-care contract has been wrongfully terminated in violation of the clear and express language of the contract).

I joined the firm in 2013 as an Associate. During my tenure at Kass Shuler, I focused my practice in consumer finance litigation. I prosecuted highly contested foreclosure cases and defended financial institutions against claims brought by borrowers. Whether the lawsuit implicated special considerations unique to national banks, challenged the conduct of sub-prime consumer lenders, or raised novel theories of liability, I worked closely with the clients to defend and/or prosecute their interests in an efficient and cost-effective manner. I assisted hundreds (perhaps thousands) of individuals modify their mortgage loans so they could keep their homes. For those individuals who were unable to modify their loans, I would attempt to negotiate "cash for keys" to assist with moving costs and/or new housing. In 2018 I had the opportunity to argue two separate appeals: One before the Fifth District Court of Appeals and one before the Second District Court of Appeals.

I was an Associate at the law firm of Buckley King, LPA located in Cleveland, Ohio for seven years. I was an active member in both the Litigation and Financial Services Groups. I represented a broad variety of clients in sophisticated litigation matters, including product liability litigation and complex commercial litigation cases. I represented and advised leading financial institutions, leasing companies, receivers, commercial landlords, manufactures, suppliers, and professionals. I provided clients with real world, practical, and cost effective business-focused solutions.During my last year with Buckley King, LPA, I served as counsel to a number of individuals claimed to have received fraudulent transfers. The transfers were alleged to have originated from an Ohio-based company suspected to have been operated as a large Ponzi scheme. In that role, I was a key member of the team identifying and analyzing claims and viable defenses on behalf of the transferees arising from complex sets of financial transfers and transactions.
