This project aims to understand how stem cells are dividing with an asymmetry of daughter cells size, as disturbance of this balanced process induces tumorigenesis and cancer. - Multidisciplinary projects. - Intensive collaborations. - Resulted in two publications in high-impact international peer-reviewed journals (Nature Cell Biology). Main Activities: - Scientific Monitoring / Establishment of the scientific field state of the art. - Project Management / Define and determine the project objectives, risks, deadlines.... - R&D / Managing project development and follow up, as well as development of tools (transgenic animals, microscopic materials, expression of proteins...). - Intensive imaging and performing advanced microscopy procedures (FRAP, FLIM, Laser Ablation...). - Quantitative analysis of results, statistical analysis, production of graphics for reports and publications. - Ensuring the communication of the project via oral presentations, posters... - Management of external collaborations. Région de Genève, Suisse Neural Stem Cell Divisions: Multidisciplinary project on the signaling Notch pathway during stem-cell asymmetric cell division in the peripheral nervous system. Notch regulates cell-fate determination during development and maintains adult tissue homeostasis. - Intensive interdisciplinary external collaborations which have resulted in three publications in high-impact international peer-reviewed journals (Nature, Nature Communications, Current Biology).

Illkirch-Graffenstaden In the group of Brigitte Kieffer: Department of Neurobiology and Genetics, IGBMC. Neurobiology of pain control: Investigation of a new endogenous mechanism for pain control, based on encephalin-release from lymphocytes under pathophysiological conditions. This project used genetically modified mice expressing a Preproenkephalin-eGFP reporter. I identified eGFP-expressing cells by flow cytometry analysis and analyzed their mRNA content.
