The Valparaiso Fiction Review (VFR) is an online internship for Valparaiso University's online journal. As an assistant editor, I was the first to read submissions and to inform my editors whether the story deserved a second reading or not and the reasons why. As a copy editor, I read accepted pieces to the journal and went through the pieces to make sure they made sense and fixed minor grammatical errors. Reading and editing was done through bepress. Created an online journal in my editing/ publishing class spring semester 2013. The entire class picked the name A Common Thread and I, along with my colleagues, acted as assistant editors and read submissions from other universities. Come the end of the semester, we picked quite a few stories and poems and put up our completed project on the web. We set up our journal through bepress.
