Our objective is to bring awareness to the stories of authors dealing with issues relating to psychological traumas in an attempt to engage with their recovery, as well as support conversations with like-minded people and readers who can relate to the same concerns. The primary responsibilities I have on a regular basis include editing manuscripts (copyediting, line editing and proofreading); overseeing the typesetting and printing of all the company's products; being a primary contact with booksellers and distributors; gathering all book metadata and ensuring they are properly shared with third-party organisations (Nielsen) and writing press releases. However, my role also entices the writing of manuscript structural reviews, being a close point of contact for authors and submission writers, promoting reading and writing as forms of therapy through the creation of marketing campaigns for the publication of the books published by the company, or participating in conferences, talks, and literary events to increase brand visibility. Being a key element in a small team, my role touches all areas of publishing: editorial, production, design, marketing, publicity, sales and rights. My language skills have been valuable in deepening my competencies as a sensitivity reader and ensuring that all foreign words, cultures and social groups (French, Italian, Spanish and Greek) are accurately represented.
