I teach piano to children as young as 5 years and older, as well as adults. I travel to students' homes for the lessons. Students learn not only to play the piano, but basic musicianship skills and music appreciation as well. Lessons frequently include ear training, rhythm training, sight reading, new music, development of their particular musical style and lots of fun. I hold recitals a few times a year for my students to perform for one another. I teach piano to children as young as 5 years and older, as well as adults. I travel to students' homes for the lessons. • Substitute Teacher
      • Sep 2014 - Jun 2016

I substitute teach at a charter middle school. I work with 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. I teach humanities (English & history), science and math. My responsibilities include: following the teacher's lesson plan, maintaining discipline in the classroom, assisting students with their class work, adhering to school policies and networking with the teachers about students who requires extra attention or assistance. I also write a report at the end of the day detailing how the classes went for the teacher. This report usually covers student behavior as well as how a lesson was received (any difficulties, any helpful students or examples, etc.) I absolutely love being a substitute teacher! Show less
