Having generated the income to start running our own services, I oversee the running of companionship cafes for older adults across the UK. These cafes reduce the risk of the onset of dementia, improve mental health and reduce levels of depression in older adults. Together Trust is a charity that offers care, support and special education to children, adults and families. Our services are based in North West England and the surrounding areas. We provide support to those with behavioural problems, learning diversities, physical diversities and autism spectrum conditions. We believe everybody deserves an equal chance in life. There are no exceptions. As a corporate fundraiser and major donor fundraiser, I create mutually beneficial relationships between businesses or individuals and The Together Trust, enabling businesses to improve employee retention and promote their brand in a positive light whilst making a difference to children, adults and families. We know that teamwork is key to good business, that's why we offer a range of corporate volunteering opportunities. Corporate volunteers can develop their skills and make a real difference to real people in their community. It’s all about motivating your team to feel inspired and helping to make that special difference to a young person. Businesses can get involved by: • Booking a team table at one of our events • Sponsoring an event such as our Family Fun Day • Organising a fancy dress day or bake sale • Encouraging employees to take part in a challenge event • Donating gifts that we can use as raffle or auction prizes • Making a regular contribution through payroll giving • Trying your luck on our 50:50 lottery • Volunteering your organisation’s skills - these could be practical DIY services or legal advice • Working with us to provide work experience opportunities for the young people we support • Becoming a social media champion and helping to raise our profile. I can work with you to agree a partnership plan, provide dedicated support and arrange regular meetings to discuss progress. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this further. Show less

    • Teacher of English
      • Sep 2013 - Sep 2018

I am a highly experienced English teacher with a consistent track record of acheiving outstanding results for students from a variety of different backgrounds, academic abilities and aquisition of English. Last year, my GCSE set 3 class acheived 100% pass rate. Expert differentiation ensured 25% of students in the same class achieved level 9, the top grade. In 2017, I anticipated a drop in the quality of teaching within our department as we had a large number of trainee teachers and changes to the GCSE exams. I trouble shooted this by implimenting and managing collaborative planning which involved managing 14 members of staff to create sharable lessons, thereby supporting less experienced teachers and sharing best practice. This initiative has now been undertaken by a variety of departments, and GCSE results improved. I have a major role in the training and coaching of PGCE, Teach First and NQTs. 100% of university students I have mentored passed with ‘Outstanding’ and are still in the profession. I have also delivered whole school staff training on how to teach outstanding lessons. I played a key role in Y11 English intervention, analaysing data to identify struggling students and planning and implementing workshops, seminars and lectures. As a result, GCSE results last year were at a high, and predictions suggest an improvement this year. Show less

    • Project Manager
      • Sep 2015 - Jul 2018

For the past 3 years I have worked as a project manager for the charity The Comino Foundation. This is a charity committed to improving the relevance of education received by students by connecting teachers to university undergraduates and facilitating the planning of projects for school children. My role for the management of these projects involves matching teachers with university undergraduates; selecting students and the hiring and risk assessing of venues. My role in fundraising for this charity involves maintaining and developing excellent relationships with corporate donors to ensure continued and increased funding. This is done by overseeing the promotion of events via social media, including the use of Twitter, updating websites and creating promotional documentaries in order to keep donors updated about the value and importance of their contributions. I have contributed significantly to celebration events with the result of increasing donations for the charity. These events give me an opportunity to communicate face to face with donors, through networking and giving of presentations, as well as facilitating discussions with the young people whom they have directly helped, allowing them to see and hear first-hand the vital impact of their donations on the lives of young people from deprived areas. • Subject Leader of Media and Film
      • Sep 2013 - Jul 2018

As subject leader of Media and Film, I am managing a team of 5 teachers to achieve their own class targets. As a result of my supportive management skills, implementation of data collection points, systematic analysis of data, and subsequent planning of targeted intervention, 100% of Y11 students have met or exceeded their target grades in coursework in 2018, and results improved from 66% A-C in 2015 to 96% in 2016, 25% higher than national average. I have designed an engaging and vocational course for GCSE Media through the planning of numerous trips, including trips to Sharp Futures, Media City, Manchester Metropolitan University and The People's History Museum. I have also project managed numerous collaborative projects for the students with The Comino Foundation. As a result, uptake of subject doubled under my leadership, and students engagement is high.
