Selected to take part in a 10-week long volunteering placement in Kigali, Rwanda. With funding from the UK Government, Challenges Worldwide works with young people and small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) across Sub-Saharan Africa to help people learn the skills that are needed to improve and grow local businesses and create sustainable economies that promote prosperity for all.Facilitated the expansion of Rwanda's preeminent public arts social enterprise in a cross-cultural business partnership with my Rwandan Business Counterpart. Our notable achievements included creating a website to increase visibility, brainstorming and investigating other valuable sales offerings of the company and a business plan detailed with financial projections to forecast the future of the enterprise. Whilst on placement I was part of the Communications Committee that liaised with Challenges HQ in the UK to promote the work of the volunteers. I introduced the idea of podcasting which lead to a series of 6 podcasts discussing globalisation and entrepreneurship in Sub-Saharan Africa. Received training in the Level 5 Professional Consultancy from Challenges Worldwide, accredited by the Chartered Management Institute.
