  Two weeks of volunteering experience as part of project Pasturs. The project aimed at mitigating the risk to the shepherds of the Orobie Bergamasche Alps due to the arrival of large carnivores through the formation of groups of volunteers who provided knowledge and practical help in all aspects of sheperds' working life. The volunteers fed shepherds with expertise and best practices on ecosystem conservation, while the shepherds gave their contributions in terms of practical experience and knowledge of the area. The fruitful exchange of experiences and the designing of territorial marketing proposals led to a reduction of the conflict between shepherds and large carnivores, which resulted in reducing damages to wildlife and the improvement of trust between environmentalists and shepherds.   As a researcher for Eliante my duties included reviewing old LIFE project held in Europe to insert in the Eurolargecarnivores LIFE project we were working [Action A1]. I also worked at LIFE Gestire 2020, writing a practical guide about livestock protection methods to prevent wolves attacks.

  Gostelow Equestrian team is a passionate team and equine centre just out Sydney; with their passion for horses they train young riders in Show Jumping and form a solid team lead by Sophia and Martin Gostelow. As a part of the crew my duties concerned helping our youngest’s trainer, La-toyah Asha, training children from 6 to 10 years old and introducing them in the horses world. My primary duty was as groom, cleaning stables and taking care of the animals at the centre [about 30, between ponies and horses], of their tack after it was used, feeding them and keeping them cleaned and checked. I was also responsible for their ration, adapting it at their BCS, and activities.During the weekends my duties were taking care of all the animals meanwhile our trainer Martin Gostelow and his students were at the shows or, alternatively with my colleagues, following them on the field and taking care of the horses before and after the shows. Every evening I was riding some horses, either owned by our clients and our school. I was living in the centre, being available 24/24 for our animals if needed.
