Role: Junior Analyst in Microdata Analysis and Coordination within the Productivity Team I contributed to analysis in a number of articles published by the ONS, including an article analysing the results of the new Management Practices Survey - which received coverage from National newspapers and the BBC. Much of this analysis involved using microdata within STATA, allowing me to develop my skills in this statistical package. My involvement in the design process of a new survey gave me more responsibility, including liaising with external stakeholders, and the ability to gain an insight into areas such as sample design, questionnaire design and response validations. I worked with the Head of Productivity on several tasks including leading on a reprographic for an International conference with other members of the Productivity team. Voluntary roles within the Placement Student community included; Placement Student Conference Committee Member and Student Engagement Team Member. Across these two roles, I was a key member in the organisation of the conference and the mock assessment day, and I contributed to the new handover system between outgoing and incoming placement students.

As my first and longest role in Hospitality, working as a Waitress enabled me to develop an array of skills. Whilst working in this industry, time management is key to ensure customer satisfaction. I received recognition for this through Employee of the Month Awards and an internal Awards scheme. Time management and organisation was also key to balancing this job and my studies, first during A-Levels and then at University. Teamwork and communication were also vital when working in a time pressured and busy environment and I believe that this shaped my confidence and ability to communicate well with my team and also customers.
