• Travelled to New Zealand alone to take up the C Alma Baker Trust working Scholarship. • 8000 acre sheep, beef and dairy farm based in the North Island of New Zealand. • Duties included calf rearing, milking, administering vaccinations and antibiotics, weighing, scanning and drenching ewes and docking lambs. • Machinery use included daily running of an ATV, moving calves and spreading dusting on the dairy unit as well as spreading urea with a trailed fertiliser spreader and Claas Axion. • Typical hours worked from 50 to 60 per week. • Solely responsible for a 1,500 acre plot during lambing for daily checks. • Completed an on-farm study project titled: 'A Review of the Enterprise Options at Limestone Downs' based on New Zealand and Global agricultural market trends Show less
