Kari Kohrmann
Ali was our day-of wedding coordinator and was absolutely amazing. She worked out every detail in advance and executed everything flawlessly. She delegated tasks to a setup team and provided much needed communication/direction to the caterer, servers, dj, ice delivers, early guests, flower girls and parents of the bride. I heard later that a few unforeseen issues arose throughout the day, but Ali confidently and graciously worked through them and created an event that appeared beyond perfection to all attendees. With Ali's coordination, the ceremony went off without a hitch. I arrived on site to a beautifully decorated venue, and thanks to Ali's direction, everyone walked down the aisle in sync with the music. Throughout the night, Ali checked in with the various staff and made sure each event (buffet line, toasts, cake-cutting, bouquet toss, etc) were all executed smoothly. Overall, what could have been a very stressful day for myself and my parents, ended up being the complete opposite: stress-free, with smooth transitions and a general mood of happiness and celebration.

Data Labs is a joint initiative between the Beeck Center and the National Governors Association that helps states launch data-sharing projects to improve government services and the lives of residents. We do this by convening cross-functional state teams, offering in-depth technical assistance, and leveraging insights from subject matter experts. This includes hiring and leading a 4 person implementation team, overseeing all timelines and deliverables, and advising on best practices for program design and implementation. I manage our key strategic partnerships with the National Governors Association and members of the advisory council. Working alongside Beeck Center leadership, I co-lead fundraising activities necessary to ensure the sustainability of the program, including proposal writing, workplan development, and grant reporting. In addition to the day-to-day work, I also collaborate with other Fellows at the Beeck Center on shared initiatives to advance government's use of design, data, and tech in broader landscape.
