      Mumbai Public School Facilitator Naandi Foundation is one of the largest and fastest growing social sector organisations in India working to make poverty history. Established on 01 November 1998, Naandi’s mission is to build alliances between state governments, corporates and civil society to create and implement innovative strategies for improving the quality of life of underserved communities. Consistent academic results and evidence that learning levels are improving in the schools we work in across urban, rural and tribal areas has seen the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) invite Naandi to partner in a school transformation drive. In this full school management initiative known as the Mumbai Public Schools Programme, Naandi Foundation manages 28 English medium schools of the MCGM. Under this Public Private Partnership with the MCGM, Naandi Foundation is ensuring that more than 12,000 students, none of whose families speak in English, are using English as the medium to study different subjects in their schools. As a Mumbai Public Schools Facilitator my responsibilities are: • Advice and guide the school leaders to make the government schools RtE ready (Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009). • Collaborate with the MCGM school teachers and ensure the implementation of activity based learning in classrooms. • Training need identification for the MCGM teachers. • Liaising with the MCGM officials for effective programme implementation. • Monitoring and Evaluation and achieving measurable outcomes. • Effective community mobilisation by forming and empowering the School Management Committees and encouraging parents’ involvement in schools. • Ensuring exposure and confidence building in children by organising and managing different events and competition. • Documenting and reporting best practices.
