Hybrid Engine Lead Engineer
-
May 2023 - Present
In anticipation for the 2023-24 academic year, I have begun the development of M51's first Liquid Oxygen-Paraffin Wax hybrid rocket engine with the help of M51 team members. For the summer, our goal is to thoroughly develop the engine, cryogenic plumbing, electronics and sensing, and test stand infrastructure to kickstart our academic year.

Recruitment Co-Director
-
Jan 2023 - Jun 2023
As Recruitment Co-Director, I led a group of new members in building their own fiberglass model rockets and designing a custom payload suite of sensors. At a test launch for Star Queen, the new members successfully launched 4 of 5 model rockets and received L1 flight certifications. One of the rockets contained their sensing payload, which provided crucial data and improvement opportunities for their payload incorporation into Star Queen.

Air Brake Lead Designer
-
Jan 2022 - Jun 2023
At M51, I work with a team of engineers in designing an air brake system that controls the drag characteristic of the rocket in real time to reach a target apogee. After our prototype was awarded $200 from NewSpace Chicago, we finished the development of the airbrake for competition. In the 2023/24 academic year, we launched successfully launched and recovered a 12 000 ft solid motor rocket at the FAR-51025 Contest, June 2-4, 2023.

2022 Hybrid Engine Team Member
-
May 2022 - Aug 2022
Over the 2022 summer, as part of a small team, I helped design, construct, and successfully static-fire test a proprietary nitrous-paraffin wax hybrid engine. I was deeply involved with plumbing, fuel, test stand design, and on-site construction of the test system.

Researcher
-
May 2022 - Sep 2022
With the Galaxy Dynamics research team, I spent 4 months learning about astronomy, useful Python packages, and the process of research. My research project involved determining the viability of using red giants as distance gauges by visualizing their abundance and distribution in simulated galaxies. Using Python, I manipulated and filtered millions of data points (stars) to select candidates. At the start of the school year, I presented my findings at the PURM Research Expo, highlighting my results on the poster linked below. Show less

Sep 2021 - May 2022
Penn Jet Propulsion is a design team manufacturing and innovating a jet engine. As a founding member, I led sub-projects, mentored new members, and researched future part design. Parts I worked on: - Researched fluid optimization to improve lubrication and strengthen the engine shaft. - Taught myself mesh modeling on Solidworks to create casings that contoured fast-rotating fins. - Manufactured stator fins. - Iterated on jet engine assembly to improve its accuracy. Team Captain
-
Sep 2019 - Mar 2020
I joined the L'Amoreaux Robotics Team as a senior in high-school to explore my interests in robotics and engineering. Starting off as a normal member, I suggested design changes and used my experience in construction to masterfully machine parts. My passion and ability guided me to become the Team Captain during our regional competition. I organized teammates, issued design adaptations on the fly, and repaired damages as they incurred. We were on our way to the Ontario semifinals when our season was cut short due to the pandemic. Show less
