    • Move More North Shore Program Coordinator
      • Sep 2021 - Present

In the transition from full-time work to my Master's degree, I am thrilled to be continuing with one of my favourite projects from my work as the Active Health Programmer: the Move More North Shore (MMNS) program. This collaborative program with the School of Kinesiology pairs physically inactive students (and employees) who are seeking on-campus counselling or medical services with a kinesiology student active health coach for 8 weeks of support in becoming physically active. As program coordinator I work with partners to set up referrals, do a pre-screen of potential participants, work with kinesiology faculty to facilitate workshops and program evaluation, and supervise student active health coaches.

    • Active Health Programmer
      • Aug 2019 - Sep 2021

In August 2019 I joined the team at Capilano University as the inaugural Active Health Programmer. There, I oversee campus recreation and active health programming by planning, developing and implementing non-academic courses, activities, and events; overseeing and evaluating external facilitators and programs; promoting all recreation sport, healthy active living and leisure programs, and special events for all ages and abilities on campus. I am responsible for collaborating with the various University stakeholders across campus regarding recreation, exercise/wellness activities and to offer coordinated wellness and recreation opportunities to students and employees on campus and in residence. I look forward to bringing active health to the forefront of campus life at Capilano University.

    • Green Prescription Advisor
      • Jan 2019 - Jul 2019

Green Prescription is a 6 month healthy lifestyle program funded by New Zealand’s Ministry of Health. Patients are referred by their doctors for support with becoming physically active and making healthy eating changes. As an advisor, I meet with clients, develop goals, and connect them with gyms, community dietitians, and physical activity programs in the community that suit their interests and specific health needs. Over the 6 months, I provide one on one support to assist clients as barriers arise, and facilitate health education workshops and walking groups. Liaising with stakeholders is another important part of this role- making sure that referrals between doctors clinics and gyms run smoothly.
