My time at Sportsnet consisted of assisting and shadowing a variety of projects and technology moves. I was assigned a project on Quantum Storage Systems, which involved research on storage systems and networks. The main topics studied were SAN, NAS, LAN, cloud computing, NMS, and logic gates. Other subjects learned outside of the project included wiring diagrams, how certain machines receive/ send signals, setting IP addresses for specific devices (virtual and physical), and testing them. For technology moves, I assisted in the move of Sportsnet editing stations and setting up the wires and networks. Lastly, I got the opportunity to work with big providers in the electronics world such as Cisco, Tektronix, Evertz, and Quantum. Show less
