Began in 1998 as a reproductive freedom fighter as Vice President of Public Affairs Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. For the first nine years determined the public policy influence and grassroots advocacy at two state legislatures with 21 congressional representatives, which impacted clients in 40 counties across California and Nevada. In 2007 energies were focused on building PPMM Nevada's political clout starting with establishing a new Nevada statewide lobbying arm: Nevada Advocates for Planned Parenthood Affiliates Inc. Responsibilities included serving on its board of directors, hiring then managing staff, and building strategy. Determined the PPMM Nevada strategies in public policy lobbying efforts (local, state and federal), grassroots advocacy, volunteer development, media relations and promotions, community relations and local marketing. Served as Board Treasurer for NAPPA. Additionally provided support and the Nevada strategy to the subsidiary organization, Planned Parenthood ADVOCATES Mar Monte, dedicated to non-profit electoral strategies at the municipal level. Supervised staff from 1-14 professionals and managed two to 10 interns at any given time.
