Vicky Tallon
When I joined the British Embassy Alfonso had been working in the role for many years. At the time of my arrival the Foreign Office and Commonwealth Office was changing the structure and reporting for Finance to achieve greater synergies across the various posts and regions. Alfonso was instrumental in helping to deliver these changes across the Spanish network, ensuring that the reporting was accurate, consistent and met the targets set by the FCO in London. Alfonso had sole responsibility for liaison with the local teams in our network and therefore championed the changes we implemented in the network. He managed the petty cash and produced monthly, quarterly and year end reporting for the management accounts. Alfonso was loyal, trustworthy and hard working. He had great integrity as well as being fun and friendly to work with. He gained both the trust of his peers and senior stakeholders alike. SAP FI - Accounts Payable – Accounts Receivable. Trial Balance Report. In charge of the day to day work at the Section. Follow instructions received from Head Quarters in Ottawa, Canada, in order to ensure reports agree with Head Quarters rules. To print monthly reports (trial balance reports) to Heads/Directors of sections after entering expenditure and receipts transactions monthly. To discuss budget forecast individually with Heads/Directors of Section. Daily contact with vendors and bank account manager. Daily reconciliation of bank accounts. To close account monthly following instructions from Head Quarters, passed to Head of Mission (General Director) for confirmation and send it to Head Quarters once agree. To take the necessary corrections/modifications if need it. Monthly funds in order to confirm we do not run out of money during the month, prevision of monthly expenditure to cover any contingencies. Ensure payroll company had data on time to do monthly payment of salaries and social security. To collect money from annual auctions (furniture-telephones-cars...)
