Cove Park is a residency centre founded in 1999, located on a 50-acre rural site overlooking Loch Long in Argyll & Bute, Scotland. In the last twenty years, Cove Park’s national and international residency programme has hosted over 4,000 individuals working in all art forms, from all backgrounds and at every career stage. Now, Cove Park is moving beyond the boundaries of the traditional ‘time, space, freedom’ residency, to include an enquiry-based model to encourage cross-disciplinary work and collective intelligence around pressing global concerns. In 2021, Cove Park launched its first enquiry connected to the environmental crisis. This model is founded upon the belief that artistic research is uniquely placed to unpack some of the most acute problems of our times, and that the transformative power of the arts is amplified through collaboration and exchange with other disciplines and sectors – such as those of academic and scientific research, technological innovation, and the creative industries as a whole.
