I had high hopes of my day at Dancing Trousers and it exceeded my expectations in every way. As an enthusiastic and very amateur, cook I learnt a lot but it was the great environment Alexis created that I will always remember. The course was such good fun and Alexis brought out the very best in us all. Her passion for food is infectious and I went home determined to up my game on the cooking front. It's perfect for a day with friends and I could see it working brilliantly for team building too.

I attended one of Alexis's courses with my Mum and my older sister. Not only was the course packed full of useful cooking tips and techniques but Alexis also managed to coax out of us enough skills to create a super tasty 3 course meal! I found her teaching technique refreshing as she made me feel it was ok to ask anything but managed to cater for all the levels of experience in the room. I would go back for another course for sure.

I manage the marketing, sponsorship, fundraising and logistics for the Oxford Festival of the Arts, a multi-disciplinary celebration of the arts that has become an Oxford cultural landmark. I work with local businesses to build bespoke sponsorship packages utilising the assets of the festival and ensuring the sponsorship makes a relevant and powerful addition to their marketing objectives. I apply for funding from trusts and grant-giving organisations and philanthropists. I am responsible for all comms and marketing the festival which is a not-for-profit company so I have to box clever with a very modest marketing budget! I believe it's all about relationships and I like to build partnerships with local media owners as well as pursuing PR and press coverage. I compile the festival brochure from copy to images and have been known to turn my hand to a bit of design work and photography too. I'm also responsible for all digital and social media marketing. Oxford Festival of the Arts was founded in 2009 by Magdalen College School and the school remains our lead sponsor and greatest supporter. Show less

I founded and ran Dancing Trousers Cookery School after having retrained and taken my Cordon Bleu Diploma. I achieved the British Cookery Schools award for People's Choice and was delighted that my customer reviews resulted in consistent Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence badges year on year. I ran the school solo and was responsible for the branding, marketing, research and development, admin and teaching of the majority of courses. I brought in specialist guest tutors and was able to offer a range of 14 different courses ranging from patisserie to knife skills, Middle Eastern to bread making. Show less
