I've had the privilege of working with Alexis from the very early stage of his pivot into becoming a software programmer. Hence, I was able to see his transformation and development every step of the way. Coming from a strong Project Manager, Community manager, and also a somewhat Entrepreneurial background, Alexis was one of the very few developers in our company who actually held the initiative to discuss with me about the business, marketing, and user experience side of the projects that we worked on together. His insights on such topics gave us a very objective perspective on the project since he was able to entirely see the project as a business person, and as a tech-person. Moreover, he was one of those people who definitely knows how to work as a 'member' of a company or a team. He knows how to praise and acknowledge others' ideas and perspectives on the project instead of only putting his ideas first. As you know, not all great programmers are capable of having this kind of patience and dedication. He is not afraid to take risks, and also is ready to grind his effort and time into this risk. Being a programming bootcamp, we encounter a good number of people trying to pivot their careers from a non-programming background to a tech position. Not all people succeed. Alexis was vigorous enough to ask for what he thinks he can dedicate to the company, and ask for help from his superiors, spend time and effort in honing those skills, and make it his own. Lastly, but nevertheless very importantly, Alexis is not only a good work 'colleague', but a very good person and a friend. And I'm sure you know that, while one's 'skills' is obviously very important in deciding to bring in a person to your team, more than that, one's traits as a good, fun, and caring person is extremely important to building a good work environment, and Alexis was definitely that kind of person within our company.

Alexis has an unbeatable sense of curiosity that is backed with a drive to learn and create. Whenever I put him on a problem, no matter if it's something familiar or something completely new, I can be confident he will find multiple ways to the solution and actually implement them to confirm viability. In the years I've had the privilege to work with him, he has always impressed me with this versatility and ability to always be completely present in the task at hand. He is a great team asset. He was always patient and generous with his time to other developers on the team and to others around him who were still learning or early on in their tech careers. Great communication skills, always willing to help, and always improving himself along with those around him!
