Alex was one of the best NCAC advisors that I have ever encountered. She was always organized and efficient when she brought students to visit our campus, and they had obvious respect for her. In addition, the events she hosted were well planned for both the audience and college representatives. In addition, Alex seems to fully engage in her environment and was often the first one to ask a thoughtful question during the variety of presentations that we attended together. I have always been impressed with her professionalism, and I think she is someone who will contribute a great deal to the field of higher education.

It was a pleasure working with Alex. She embodied the true ideals of what you expect out of a leader and a team member. Whenever I worked on the project with Alex, I was without doubt that I was working with someone willing to see the project from start to finish. During the summer before our final year of service, Alex and I worked closely with our supervisor to plan for summer training and to complete various projects. Her biggest project for the summer was SharePoint, a site that our organization would use to share and upload useful work related documents. She was very instrumental in creating and organizing our first SharePoint site. With little direction and little time, she created a first-class SharePoint website with every piece of information any person in our organization could have asked for. Not only did she create the website, but she also regularly updated it with pertinent information that helped made many of our work better and easier. Even though I have little knowledge about her experience at Salem High School, I can assure you that the school and students were greatly fortunate to have Alex among its staff. When working with the MCAC advisers, she would do whatever it was possible to make sure there was cohesion within the group. She brought a lot of novel ideas and excitement to MCAC to help build its culture. There just wasn’t a dull moment working with Alex. As a result, I’m positive that whatever organization Alex works for in the future, she’ll be a tremendous asset. She’s a self-starter, hard worker and constantly looks for ways to improve everyone’s situation.

I direct campus-wide financial wellness programming including hiring and management of 13 student employees who facilitate group and one-on-one educational sessions with peers and their families. Evaluations from team members and clients inform programmatic and organizational improvements. Noteworthy improvements: • Implemented cultural competency, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills in employee training. • Established internal work interest groups to leverage employees' skills while addressing organizational needs. • Developed 12 new presentations covering financial literacy basics, financial psychology, and student financial lifecycle from admissions through early professional life. • Prioritized audience engagement and hands-on learning in group sessions. • Created comprehensive budgeting, paying for college, and life after college guidebooks with digital tools for skill-building. • Coordinated integrated, multi-modal marketing efforts. • Utilized campus technology to develop a system to identify and proactively support financially at-risk students. This project launched in July 2023 and will result in an analytics tool (est. June 2024) to direct prioritization and intensity of outreach to incoming students. Demonstrated success in organizational and client outcomes include: • Achieved a 27% increase in total student client touchpoints from FY22 to FY23, including a 158% rise in one-on-one meetings and a 49% increase in touchpoints with financially at-risk students. • Received a 46% increase in requests for on-demand presentations to classes and campus organizations. • Demonstrated significant reductions in client financial stress after financial coaching sessions: ○ Extreme stress decreased from 38.3% to 7.5% of respondents. ○ Low-stress ratings increased from 29.2% to 70.8% of respondents. ○ Average 20% stress reduction. Higher for respondents with pre-stress ratings of 3, 4, and 5 (32%, 40%, and 35.8% respectively). Show less
