Throughout his contribution as Chief of Marketing at the Maastricht Entrepreneurship Week 2015 Alexej demonstrated to be exceptionally passionate and creative. Furthermore, Alexej showed to be talented at connecting people from different backgrounds. Under his lead the marketing team set up a brand-new cross-faculty marketing campaign, a brand new in-town promotion plan and a revitalized online marketing campaign. With this, reach of the event and paid attendance increased massively. Most importantly however: the event inspired an entirely new range of students!

      ArteCyclo is a project that enacted from the observation of the considerable sur-plus of plastic bags in Chilean households. The pillars of that project rely on cooperation with local artisans that produce beautiful up-cycled hand-crafted products with plastic bags, in combination with an e-commerce platform that enables them to be promoted and sell their products. We also aim at taking care of the collection of non-used plastic bags through a home pick-up service and "Plastic Banks". The collected material will then be directed towards the artisans that will use the plastic bags in order to transform into objects such as proper bags, iPhone cases, accessories and other customization features of objects. Furthermore, the ArteCyclo project aims as well at bringing awareness around the over-consumption of plastic bags in Chile / South-America. We're currently working with several organisations that are leading the fight against pollution through the promotion of re-cycling and up-cycling techniques.       As the title of Chief Inspiration Officer already clearly states it, my main mission was to inspire the community of students to get acquainted with the world of the entrepreneur-ship: becoming pirates. This was enabled through yearly events such as the the Global Entrepreneurship Week Maastricht (17th-19th November '15) and the Maastricht Entrepreneurship Week (13th-16th May '16) where students got the opportunity to gain more constructive insights about the world of startups and entrepreneurs. It's all about creating the inner-spark of starting a project, a venture or undertake a new journey. Global Entrepreneurship Week Maastricht 2015 was a great success! With a team of 9 great volunteers I recruited, we gathered more than 200 participants during the 3 days event, which is a significant increase in comparison to the past editions. An innovative part of the program was the implementation of the "Innovator Challenge" that featured UNICEF NL, which aimed at solving its challenge of generating a new and innovative fundraising model, based on transformative thinking and community capacity building. In total 45 participants were divided in 8 teams and had 4 hours to find the best solution to the challenge and convince the jury of UNICEF representatives at the end of the process. The UNICEF judges were impressed by the quality of the ideas generated and the winning idea was retained as a possible implementation for a future campaign. During the two evening talks, participants were inspired by topics such as Social Entrepreneurship, Women in Entrepreneurship, Technology, Sustainability, Young Entrepreneurs, Circular Economy, Emerging Markets and Innovation. The feedback from the participants of the event rated a satisfaction of 4.3/5. Show less
