Patrick Larkin
I had the privilege of working with Alex at Descanso Gardens and most recently at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden (RSABG). I find her to have a passion for the work she does, with an extraordinary level of dedication, and a level of professionalism rarely seen today. In her positions with Human Resources, Alex served as the primary contact for people seeking employment at the organization, as well as the contact for managers looking to hire positions. She would develop position descriptions, place ads, and respond to inquiries. But she also provided the day‐to‐day management of the organization’s benefit programs, keeping staff informed, and managing all other human resources administrative duties such as compliance, employee relations and performance evaluations. Alex performed these duties adroitly, easily working with diverse personalities, and seeking my advice when appropriate. However, particularly at RSABG, Alex took on additional responsibilities beyond her job description. She is a genuine team player with ability and drive, and would be a tremendous asset in any organization.
Rebecca Coleman Lerback
Alex was my go-to person for problem solving. Her clear insight helped me address and resolve personnel issues; discover cost-saving, elegant, and creative options for special events; and navigate productive relationships with my C-suite colleagues and our Board of Trustees. Alex's background, blending corporate and non-profit management experience, made her a worldly and well-rounded addition to our senior management team.
