Alex had been a really helpful resource at Extron, especially since I was new to Extron equipment and commercial AV in higher-education, in general. My organization is transitioning away from Crestron AV systems and there were many AV upgrades and new installations, some with technical challenges. Alex was knowledgeable and resourceful in answering technical questions, leveraging resources within Extron where needed. He was also very proactive in recommending training for the AV staff at my organization. I am thankful for his support the last 3 years since I started work at my organization.

      For nearly a decade I was fortunate enough to help lead Extron's S3 (Service, Support, and Solutions) & business development efforts for the education sector across the Midwest USA and beyond. I lived & breathed our mission and brought dedication to every customer interaction while exploring much of the U.S.Unfortunately Extron produced widespread product failures on the primary scaling presentation switcher product line, countless delayed new product releases, enforced stringent and stifling sales control efforts, along with unsuccessful strategic decisions around business acquisitions and director level personnel appointments...as a result many of their longtime customers and dedicated employees paid the price.Originally our EDU team thrived around delivering world class support and excellent learning environment AV technology until the newly appointed management took the helm in 2018 and drove the ship into the rocks. The endeavor of building a learning space had evolved to incorporate more considerations than ever; making it vital to ensure the technology was beneficial to students and adopted by instructors while simultaneously being easily maintained and normalized for consistent and predictable results. The solutions also need to be expandable as the institution's strategic technology directives evolved. With distance education becoming an essential part of the puzzle having the ability to expand classroom systems to serve hybrid learning became imperative...although they were a little antiquated and not quite ideal, Extron delivered a handful of hodge-podge solutions intended to bring these objectives to reality. Even though the solutions catalog was advertised as a collective and entwined ecosystem each product line was siloed and didn't integrate seamlessly. Customer feedback overwhelmingly made it evident they preferred reliability, simplicity, & intuitiveness over the complicated & unsynchronized solutions being brought to the market. Show less
