  Equities.com is a digital publisher and tool provider focused on small-company finance. I was recruited as their first technical employee to lead the transition of the development function from an agency to in-house, which required building and managing technical teams focused on Agile development for a Joomla-based primary site, APIs for data feeds, and build of a new trading platform. Within three months of hire I had built teams that enabled discontinuation of the agency services, and our project focus included construction of a new trading platform to enable clients to trade stocks and options. I led infrastructure design, database design, framework selection, and strategy for providing a seamless user experience for users of the Equities.com site and the trading platform. My leadership responsibilities included backend programming, assigning all development tasks, leading code reviews, developing software processes and standards, and facilitating weekly meetings with executives to update project status, identify risks, and translate their product vision into technology solutions for teams to execute.
