Livia Cosmineanu

I had the opportunity of working with Alexandru for a year and a half, while he was the sound engineer for the band I am managing, Robin and the Backstabbers. Besides his valuable technical skills providing the perfect sound for the band during live performances, Alexandru is also very reliable, hands-on in solving spontaneous issues, very adaptable to any type of venue and more important: investing a lot of passion in his work. Bands, venues, festivals or events, take the chance of collaborating with Alexandru, as I can assure you one awesome crew member, who will bring a valuable sound experience!

In October 2011 I began my collaboration with Romanian melodramatic pop band Robin and the Backstabbers. We experimented with different sounds as the band looked for its ever-developing identity. It began as a classic 4 piece band (drums, bass, two guitars and vocals) and it evolved into a 5 piece band adding keyboards and saxophone to their sound. This proved to be quite the challenge as my mixing style adapted to these new additions. Another challenge was harnessing the loud volumes on stage as the band preferred and translating them into intelligible music for the audience. Even if they dub their style as melodramatic pop, their shows rocked all the way. Our collaboration was put on hold in September 2012. Show less

East Roots are a 7 piece Romanian band with a sound that's a fusion between reggae, dub, drum'n'bass and ska. They contacted me in April 2012 to fill in their need for a FOH Engineer. We toured various clubs in Romania and our shows were met with great reviews. Their complex sound allowed me to further my knowledge of live mixing. In February 2011 I started working with Romanian post-punk industrial rock band Partizan (4 piece). This gave me the opportunity to aid the band in defining their complex and unusual sound, at least as far as Romania's music scene goes. It was a wonderful experience that will probably continue in the eventuality of the return to my home country. Our collaboration was put on hold in September 2012. Starting from February 2009 I took on the role of FOH/Monitor Engineer for Romanian pop band Hi-Q. We extensively toured in Romania, from small clubs to big stadium gigs. We used our own backline including mixing boards, Midas Venice and Verona, so I got the chance to get to know these boards quite well over the course of two years, as our collaboration ended in December 2010. Starting from March and up to next January I was the FOH/Monitor Engineer for Romanian rock band Spitalul de Urgenta. It was my first job as a FOH Sound Engineer and I acquired experience on various analogue and digital mixing boards. As budgets are limited in Romania, I also filled in as a Monitor Engineer. I still maintained some duties as backline technician. Starting from March and up to next January I was the FOH/Monitor Engineer for Romanian rock band Spitalul de Urgenta.
