Study of the influence of solar radiation on Medium/High Voltage conductors/cables. • Thermal simulation of realistic single/multi-core conductors and cables. • Construction of simplified equivalent electrical circuits for the above (both steady state and time transient). • Generation of Nyquist plots of thermal impedance of realistic single/multi-core cables for the cases of regular Joule losses, radiation and combination of these. • Achievement of the objectives above through extensive use of COMSOL and Matlab.
