I was awarded this research fellowship funded by M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust for the duration of my senior year of my undergraduate studies. I worked in the lab of Dr. Virginia Brooks conducting a project investigating the role of brain inflammatory markers in obesity-related sympathetic nerve activity. During my project I became proficient in IHC, flourescence imaging techniques, rat handling, cryostat brain slicing. I also participated in experimental design and troubleshooting as well as data analysis and presentation.
