  As a reading tutor of the University of California’s Readers PLUS program, I assisted children who were struggling with reading skills. Through the program, I worked with children at the James A. Foshay Learning Center. I met with students individually, twice a week, to work on reading comprehension, fluency, spelling, and grammar. Each week I created lesson plans for each of my students and tested them twice a semester in order to keep track of their progress. In addition to individual tutoring, I worked during after school hours to help the students of Beyond the Bell, an after school program throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District, with homework.   Galileo is an enriching science and art innovation summer camp for children between the ages of 4 and 13. The educational camp focuses its curriculum on teaching children to be bold and creative thinkers. As a summer intern I created fun and exciting posters and cardboard figures to excite campers, facilitated group games, supervised camper lunches, and stepped up as a team leader. As a team leader I lead my group of 4-5 year old campers through their camp scheduled classes and activities while providing support to the teachers within the classroom.
