  At FMC I had the chance to work with the managers responsible for all the different areas within the IT department. Starting with applications, having to solve problems related to the applications developed by the department or the third-party ones. After that migrated to the Infrastructure side, working on projects ranging from Virtual Machines and HP Blade Servers to the initial work of cleaning up the server room. At last had the opportunity to manage some application projects, and also work on the Audit team. This work gave me the chance to experience how the different areas in an IT department relate to each other, giving me a great visibility on how the problems can arise and best of all how to solve them on a practical way.   As my first job this opportunity at IBM gave me a good experience on how was it to work in a big company, and most of all how was it to work in a huge project. My responsibilities at my project were to help developing the front-end to a web application used in a bank system, and to work side by side with the Cobol programmers to have both systems working together the best way possible. I was trained in Java, WebSphere and other tools during this months. As my first job this opportunity at IBM gave me a good experience on how was it to work in a big company, and most of all how was it to work in a huge project.
