I mix paint and help guests by recommending other products that will help them complete their whole project and don't end up making several trips in. The department is also in charge of the Pet and Grocery area of the store. In this department, I keep on top of expiration dates and keeping the shelves stocked. I also help with moving and setting product when the promotions change. In January of 2021, I joined the Planogram team. In this new role, I am responsible for setting seasonal product and making adjustments to displays. Show less

Throughout my year with Beverages and More (legally shortened to BevMo) I learned and gained experience in adult beverages and wine pairing. Although a chain on the West Coast, it was a very popular beverage store for the area. With a setup to succeed, we were given a pocket guide in order to help our customers with the best knowledge possible. Part of our training included: ~ 9 hour wine teaching/tasting ~Pocket guide to wine, beer, alcohol (including what food it goes best with) ~ Conversations with people, "critic's choice" descriptions on price tags, etc ~Great customer service ~Promoted (without raise) to CES (Customer Experience Survey) Captain Spring of 2012 ~ Worked the cash register ~ Kept the "cheese boat" stocked and minded FIFO (First in, first out) and expiration dates CES Captain duties included ~ Giving same great customer service ~ Coming up with game plans for how to improve scores ~ Phone conference with other CES Captains and laid out BevMo Mountain View's game plan ~ Keeping a watchful eye on the scores and redo game plan when necessary I was also recipient of 2 "ACE" (Amazing Customer Experience) awards highlighting my customer service. The award was a certificate and an "ace" pin to add to my name tag. BevMo Mountain View, California is no longer in operation. The area was redesigned after I moved back home to Minnesota to accommodate for new businesses with housing above. Show less
