Skills4Work is a programme organised by UCL Union and UCL Careers, which helps students improve their career skills through a wide range of workshops, panels and career fairs. I coordinate the UCL Union side of the programme, which means I promote it to UCL students, take bookings, liaise with the trainers, make sure everything runs smoothly and the students make the most out of this initiative. I am the sole coordinator of this side of the programme and often liaise with UCL departments and UCL Careers to organise joint events (such as career-themed weeks or fairs). Show less

    • Senior Mentor
      • Aug 2015 - Feb 2016

After being a Transition Mentor within the department of Biological Sciences for two consecutive years, I had the pleasure to apply and be selected for the role of Senior Mentor. This means that I organise the initial meeting between Transition Mentors and their mentees and read the weekly logs the mentors provide to ensure everything is running smoothly. I make sure that the transition mentors of this year as well as the mentees enjoy themselves and actually learn something while being part of the scheme. I believe that learning goes both ways- the mentees receive support from the mentors, but the latter should also benefit from the scheme and enrich their university experience at the end of it.
