I currently produce Daybreak M-W, and Weekend Daybreak. I work the overnight shift, but have also produced our 4:30 afternoon show. This is my first producing gig, and first time I've ever had to work remotely. During the week, I have a live reporter I assign topics to for live shots during my shows. I use Newspath and Latakoo to find most of my content, along with social media, our newsroom inbox, and AP wires. I communicate with on air talent and production crew, whether I'm in the building or not, to execute live shows to the highest possible standard. Show less

I am the week night multi-media journalist, and very often do one-man-band work on my shifts. So far, my biggest stories I've covered are the disappearance of Brian McKenzie (which was featured on a Nancy Grace podcast), fatal car crash of Katherine Williams-Dunning (daughter of country star Hank Williams, Jr.), Brandon Webber's death in Frayser, and the indictment in the 23-year-old cold case of Cayce McDaniel, who went missing at the age of 14, among others. I also worked my first presidential election. I worked mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays. My experience in working these very different shifts rewards me with the understanding of how things are during these times of the day and week, along with many different kinds of stories. I also have some experience going live out in the field fairly often for different events and breaking news. I pitch daily story ideas, and have connected with sources across many career areas (officials and everyday people). I have even connected with people outside of my counties because it is important to connect with as many people as possible. I have not specialized in a certain story area at my station, but through my work at WBBJ, have learned that I am highly interested in human interest and investigative stories. Show less
