- Deliver a ‘Service Hub’ model offering support and pathways for refugees, people seeking asylum and migrants, including a Home Food Deliveries Program ($50,000 grant) to 162 individuals, as a response to COVID-19 impact; ConnectEd utilities literacy information sessions with one-to-one follow up appointments; Nurse Practitioner Clinic services for toddlers up to 17 years old; free flu vaccination clinics; conversational English classes; homework support; community garden; community dinners; drop in and referral services. - Secured and set up a new program delivering seven Community Learning Courses (as a member of the Community Centres SA ACE Consortium) to boost employment, digital and language skills for work and study empowering 52 students to take further steps in their learning journey or employment options. Outcomes include students successfully getting a job, starting their own small businesses, enrolling in TAFE or university studies, graduate programs, traineeships and volunteering roles. - Established “Welcoming Careers”, a new job-seeking program supporting 20 community members -including in bridging visas, to identify their skills and needs and offer strategies to improve their job readiness. - Secured financial assistance of an estimated $300,000 consisting of payments for rent/bond, utilities, phone and internet bills, medical and dental costs, driving tests, school fees, car registrations, food vouchers, groceries cards and food from pantry. Undertook timely and accurate reporting on selected grants. - Set up a new childminding program accompanying the Centre activities. Managed 30 volunteers, four crèche workers, two ACE trainers, three staff and 10 placement university students. - Increased collaboration with different stakeholders, community associations, local councils, State Departments, forums and peer organisations. Worked to promote the Centre and celebrate success stories, for example, with Secret Recipes 2021 and 2022 Fringe events. Show less
