It has been a great pleasure working with Alexandra on hydrochemical projects for Ecoengineers' client BHP Billiton Coal. Alexandra is a talented young scientist with an already well-developed understanding and knowledge of geology, groundwater geochemistry and a sophisticated understanding of the necessary relevant mathematical techniques. I found her to be a very pleasant and efficient colleague and fine team player and that she exhibited an ability to rapidly learn new understanding and knowledge as required. I would not hesitate to recommend Alexandra for a wide range of relevant and demanding geoscience positions.

I was privileged to witness Alexandra’s significant development from a graduate to a scientist of considerable research skills. Her doctorate exposed her to the coal mining industry and her chemical studies of minerals, water, intrusions and gas has given her a solid foundation to progress this work. Recent forays into carbon sequestration demonstrate her significant capabilities and her unlimited determination to explore new areas of study and to make new discoveries. I unreservedly recommend Alexandra to people passionate about research and developing solutions to today’s challenges.

I worked daily with laboratory technicians, data analysts, sales, local agents and management staff on 6 continents to ensure the success of our business unit. Main tasks:• Key Account Coordinator for our largest client; overseeing the management of all projects for that client, being the key contact point including making several trips per year to Kuwait, and organisation of joint publication of research papers at international conferences.• Coordinator of a portfolio of projects, including the entire lifecycle of the project; building and maintaining client relationships, tailoring proposals to suit client’s needs, overseeing the daily management of the projects, financial reporting, regular and final reporting and delivery of final presentation with follow-up to gauge client satisfaction and generate new business.

In 2015 I was selected for a two-year posting to Trondheim, Norway to optimise knowledge transfer and workflow adoption. • This was in recognition of my ability to nurture collaborative working relationships and develop staff, my analytical and problem solving skills, my excellent attention to detail, communication and organisational skills but also a reward for my outstanding contributions to the company, • I was selected to manage concurrent and complex projects that provided our largest sources of revenue. • I identified ways to help the company to thrive, including preparing documentation and templates, optimising workflows, leading research in novel areas, and leveraging my large professional network to increase our client base, • I learnt Norwegian language to help with day-to-day interactions,• As a result of my posting to Norway our workflows are now more streamlined across the two sites and I have enjoyed ample opportunity for professional growth.

In this role I advised honours, masters and PhD students while performing my three-year applied research project with stakeholders in industry and government. Specifically: • I designed a project to perform remediation of groundwater from acid sulphate soils; including baseline monitoring of groundwater and soil composition, selection of reactive materials, and design and construction of a permeable reactive barrier to treat the groundwater before it entered a stream. I met with the stakeholders regularly and worked with my team to publish the findings of the project in peer-reviewed journals and in international conferences.
