Alex has quite honestly changed the trajectory of my career and life for the better through her work with STEMAZING. Prior to the Inspiration Academy, I suffered from a lot of crippling self-doubts about my abilities in STEM and my worth. The academy helped me reconnect with what I'd gravitated towards doing before I lost my confidence; making STEM more accessible. The Academy was incredibly well organised and run, having a mix of group calls, individual work and of course, delivering sessions online to primary school children! The toolbox of activities was a hit, and I've continued to use the sessions with primary schools, SEN schools and even secondary schools to show children that STEM is fun. The confidence I gained through doing the Inspiration Academy lead me to push myself out of my comfort zone in other avenues, which in turn led to more confidence and so on and so forth. Alex has been a continual supporter of me as I explore what I can bring to the Engineering table. Alex's passion for helping women and children within STEM is clear, and she's had a tremendous impact through the creation of STEMAZING. In 10 or so years' time, I'm betting that I meet young women engineers who took part in STEMAZING as children and were inspired to pursue STEM.
Stephanie Phipps BSc MSc GradIOSH
STEMazing provides women and the next generation to be inspired and empowered in what they want to become. STEMazing gave me the opportunity to influence the younger generation in STEM and be a role model during their STEM lessons where I taught them. The experience of being part of STEMazing women resulted in me being promoted to a business partner because I had the confidence and inspiration to progress to the next level in my career. I would highly recommend the programme for those who want to be a visible role model and build your career
