As project manager for the 'Comics Unmasked' exhibition I was responsible for the management of the object list, the installation schedule, conservation assessments and worked very closely with the designers and contractors to ensure deadlines were met. Earlier this year I worked on the refurbishment of the Treasures gallery and was responsible for the de-installation of the gallery and for the re-installation schedule of all objects. I have also worked on a number of smaller exhibitions and displays such as 'Picture This' and 'Beautiful Science'. All of which have given me a firm understanding of the Libraries exhibition spaces and an understanding of the organisation and collections. Other responsibilties and tasks are detailed below: • Responsibility for the production of exhibit lists for designated projects. • Producing detailed exhibit layouts for all designated projects in conjunction with Curators, Conservators and Designers. • Organising schedules and assisting with the mounting of designated projects. • Assisting in the appointment of contractors (design, construction and graphics) to work on designated projects. • Managing the external companies appointed to undertake the required work, ensuring the work meets the highest standards, is completed to deadline and to contract value and on-site working is undertaken according to the current health and safety regulations. • Managing the production of exhibition case fixtures and fixings. • Proof-reading and production of text panels and labels. • Undertaking and co-ordinating picture research for all exhibition projects and clearing copyright. • Managing exhibition storage areas to ensure they are audited, kept tidy and to reduce the risk of damage to showcases and mounts.

I ensured all essential data such as materials, dimensions and valuations were collated. • Working with curators, I researched object information and sourced contextual images and where necessary ordered photographs/images and seek copyright clearance. • Working closely with Exhibition Designers and Graphic Designers I ensured that each design stage was met. For V&A shows I managed the graphics schedule and ensured curators/copy editors met text deadlines. • For British Design I put together the accompanying gallery guide and chased contributors for text and worked out the layout with the copy editor, V&A marketing department and graphic designers. • Edited and proof-read texts, including object labels, information panels, press releases and gallery guides. • I worked on various touring exhibitions such as ‘Undressed’, ‘Modern Masters’, ‘Constable’ and ‘Water into Art’ and correspond with UK and International borrowers and assisted with practical arrangements for exhibition tours, including packing, transportation, installation and courier schedules. • Liaised with appointed transport agents on all transport/packing arrangements. • I worked on a large number of temporary exhibition installations and de-installations at the V&A, at UK museums and at international museums and institutions. This involved unpacking object crates, condition checking works, supervising security, contractors and object handlers and overseeing all lighting and graphic installation. I gained an enormous amount of knowledge and experience in the project management of exhibitions and thoroughly enjoyed the process of organising a successful show.
