Bookings & Functions Manager

Aurora Bars & Restaurants, situated on the waterfront on the Ipswich mariner. This venue was home to various events, such as live music, pop up bars & outside events, weddings, hen parties, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays & anniversaries on a daily basis. My role was to ensure that all guests requirements were met, from the menus that wish to dine from, to the bespoke drinks they were offered, specific areas of the venue they wished to require, decorations and ultimately, the running order of their event/function. Along with a few key members within the management team, I was tasked with the launch of the Boardwalk Cafe-Bar on the Pier in Felixstowe. It was down to myself & other management to ensure that all staff had the training in place to work to a standard that we put in place. I created drinks menus, cocktail menus, deciding on stock, suppliers, glassware, recipe specs for the till systems, ordering processes, creating rotas on a 4 weekly basis, being in charge of holiday approval & reviews. creating all paperwork for the business & keeping up with the general upkeep of the venue, being in charge of the cash handling within the venue as well as training staff to do some as well. Hosting a number of live music acts out on the pier, having singers within the venue, party nights with DJ's & big NYE events - all being done alongside the promotion of them. Show less

The woolpack is a classic locals pub with fabulous local & guest ales on draft as well as serving wholehearted food. I assisted the General manager with all forms of responsibility, from orders, staff rotas, payroll, auditing & much more. I planned events within the venue such as charity quizzes, created cocktails that would work within the pubs environment & did promotional work for the venue.
