  Throughout my time working with the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) I have worked on many of their campaigns; Voter Registration, Higher Education Affordability, Aid to the Hungry and Homeless, Consumer advocacy (small claims court), and the Environment. These were advocated for in various ways, from lobbying, petitioning, clipboarding, registering students to vote, classroom presentations, working in soup kitchens and shelters, organizing a 5k, and creating a photo-documentary. NYPIRG not only trained me in skills such as public speaking and community outreach, but did it in such a way as to promote hands on experience by improving the community. Show less
