Once the QA department grew, I was promoted to QA Team lead, since it now made sense to have one. I was managing a team of , at first, 3 people, which grew to 5 people at its peak(myself excluded). Responsibilities: - Coordinate and assign tasks to the QA engineers, for both manual and automated testing - We switched from PHP to Java automation testing (Spring with Maven + TestNG were the skeleton of the framework). The reason for that was because the Java community for automation is much richer in features and tools. - Used Docker for deployment and possibility of CI/CD integration with Jenkins - Wrote a test cases web application for internal use in Java + Spring MVC with Bootstrap as a front-end framework, which we later used for writing and executed manual test cases and test plans, especially for releases. - Continued work with relational persistent databases such as MySQL - Used many other interesting plugins and libraries for enriching the tests, like Extent Reports for creating beautiful and readable test reports, Selenoid as a layer above Selenium WebDriver to execute and manage test runs, especially when running parallel test jobs. - Continued manual testing while also taking care of test automation and team manangement. - Reading and reviewing business requirements - Working in an Agile environment - Working with the Swagger API interface for our application's RESTful API - Working with Postman to test requests and responses of the API routes - Executing manual and automated test runs and communicating with neighboring departments It is worth mentioning that the application under test was a web application.
