As a researcher for the GSU Voice Laboratory, Alexandra has an opportunity to work with patients undergoing voice therapy by evaluating successful and unsuccessful methods of treatment. Personally alongside the director of the lab, she helps develop new study designs, evaluates flaws in previous research, assists with grant application, develops new measurement scales, analyzes data and creates organized files and spreadsheets.

As a part of the staff, Alexandra helped to show links between how individuals respond to others’ emotions and their psychological functioning, through a psychological and physiological investigation of emotional development in a premier cognitive psychology lab at Georgia State University. She conducted analytical observations of risk for childhood depression and anxiety by decoding ECG heart rate data. Alexandra facilitated the training of two colleagues on the Acqknowledge Data Acquisition and Analysis program and took part in a poster that was presented in the Georgia State Undergraduate research conference. Alexandra banded with her community by serving food to the elder community. Moving up the ranks she became a hostess/ manager who supervised employees, facilitated with hiring, wrote reports and assisted with scheduling. Being on staff required a detail-oriented approach ensuring that each food preparatory station was clean and organized. Alexandra had strong communication with other servers, cooks, managers, and executive directors up to the corporate level, and maintained a professional setting. Additionally, Alexandra provided kind and patient customer service within an alienated, predominately disabled community. Show less
