I manage SAIIA's list of research publications from manuscript to print stage. I've introduced a 5th research output type to the SAIIA list - a Policy Insights paper - to fill a gap. We're undergoing an exciting website redesign; long format here we come! I regularly read posts from a variety of think tank, digital and communications organisations to keep me informed about what's happening in our space. Dissemination of our research is key and finding ways to keep it current is really an ongoing process: hence our new Instagram account (@saiia_org) - follow us!

I joined Macmillan in an entry-level position (admin assistant) but was soon given the opportunity to become a publisher. My experience of English language teaching meant I was a good fit for English as an additional language publishing. The demands of answering to the department of education make this a very stressful job, especially as curriculum changes were made without taking into account the time needed to interrogate the changes and incorporate them into good teaching material. Anyone who has been in this job will know exactly what I mean. I learnt invaluable project management skills in this position.
