John Weber
Alexa was an outstanding student in Marketing Planning for Growth Course in London in Spring 2012. She distinguished herself as team leader, team player, and enthusiastic contributor throughout. Alexa is bright, disciplined, dependable, and was very creative in working with the various concepts and frameworks we develop during my course. She was always punctual, alert, engaged, and perceptive. She also brings a refreshing inquisitiveness to the classroom – questioning and constructively seeking to thoroughly understand even the most complex concepts. She caps these attractive learning habits with excellent communication skills – in writing and in both informal discussions and more formal classroom presentations. Finally, she has a great sense of humor and is fun to work with.

Learning Strategy Leader, Watson Financial Services
-
Jan 2017 - Jul 2018
• Coordinated the Sales Enablement efforts for the newly formed Watson Financial Services team under IBM's Industry Platforms business unit. I planned all of our team's All Hands calls and the majority of our seller enablement sessions. I also managed our collaboration with other Financial Services and enablement leaders, to leverage each other's resources, cross-promote activities, and share expertise.• Led internal communications efforts for the Watson Financial Services unit. I was personally selected by General Managers Alistair Rennie and Neil Isford, and Heather Clifton, Industry Platforms CMO, to redefine the entire Watson Financial Services internal communications system. Using a design thinking approach, I held interview calls with key stakeholders across the various parts of the business: marketing, sales, tech sales, services, support, offering management, geographies, etc. to determine their individual needs to be included in the overall scope of the project. The largest deliverable was a complete refresh of the internal community website, including a new landing page, an executive corner, a location for FAQs, a marketing brand center, and a new hub for the technical support team. • Helped to define the team's Open Badge strategy as well as create a webpage for housing all information pertaining to these badges. I worked with different heads of the solution segments to create specialty badges for our sellers to demonstrate expertise and advance careers.• On a quarterly basis, I consolidated and presented our team's enablement metrics summary for executive review. WW Robotic Engagement Leader
-
Nov 2015 - Jan 2017
I was tasked with creating a formal, global program within IBM where we used robots running Watson applications at various client meetings and events to identify new opportunities and progress existing deals.• Created a global system for submitting requests to bring robots to events. During this time, I managed 305 robot request submissions. As a team, we approved and staffed 145 worldwide requests. These included 52 sales briefings, 38 IBM events, 40 non-IBM events, and 15 other activities.• Collaborated with the Marketing, Research Lab, and Offering Management teams to create and host relevant content for the larger IBM organization. This included crafting a demo script, creating applications using IBM Cloud and Watson APIs to run live, pulling together a resource page for promotional videos and recorded demonstrations, and publicizing guidelines for when and how the robots could be used.• Delivered demonstrations of the Hilton cognitive concierge application. I presented at 45 engagements this year, including 13 sales briefings along with other executive presentations, conferences, and events. These were largely in the United States, but I was also requested specifically to travel to India to support former Watson CMO Stephen Gold and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty at the launch of the Watson Ecosystem there and the IBM India Think Forum, respectively.
